Founder Bev Kokos began his journey in the heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration trade in 1986, while serving in the United States Navy. Working on the USS Missouri and USS Roanoke, Bev gained extensive hands-on experience with air conditioning systems, shipboard refrigeration, and cargo cooling equipment. Whether stationed in the sweltering heat of the Persian Gulf or enduring the icy waters of the North Atlantic, Bev learned how to keep critical systems running under pressure—literally and figuratively.
After receiving an honorable discharge, Bev brought his military-honed skills into the civilian world, building a career that spans residential HVAC, commercial heating and cooling, and industrial refrigeration. His work ethic, precision, and commitment to doing the job right the first time have remained constant through every project and every season.
In 2015, Bev and his wife Rebecca made a bold decision: they sold their share of a previous company and moved to San Antonio, Texas to start a business rooted in faith, family, and hard work. In 2016, 7K Mechanical was born.
The name “7K” isn’t just a catchy brand—it’s a tribute to Bev’s family ranch brand, a symbol of legacy and heritage passed down through generations. At 7K Mechanical, our name reflects not just who we are, but why we do what we do.
Today, Bev is not only a respected HVAC expert, but a husband, father, and grandfather (with grandbaby #9 on the way!). He credits every success to the blessings of God and the unwavering support of his family.
